Richard Jones – Operations Manager

Background & Education
Richard was educated at Dartmouth High School in Great Barr, Birmingham and went on to study Mechanical Engineering, gaining a HNC in Mechanical Engineering from Walsall College of Arts & Technology.
He has built up over 24 years’ experience in his engineering career, encompassing expertise within materials handling, bespoke machinery and automation.
Experience & Career Development
Richard’s career began as Junior Design Engineer for Conveyor Manufacturing Systems Ltd, from where he progressed to the role of Design Engineer – firstly for Marwell Conveyors Ltd and then for Modular Automation Ltd, expanding his experience and knowledge of engineering into new sectors and areas.
In 2008, Richard joined Mechatronic Solutions as Design Engineer, a crucial role within the business, focusing on bespoke automation systems for a range of clients.
In 2010, he progressed to the role of Project Leader, taking on more responsibility and working closely with a number of clients in differing sectors.
Richard was promoted to his current role of Operations Manager in 2015.

I have been given the opportunity to develop my career and also gained valuable skills in Mechanical Design, Project Management and Leadership to name but a few.”
Richard is a keen rugby fan who used to play Second Row for Handsworth RFUC.
Now his two young children keep him busy and active. He is also using his engineering and project management skills in renovating the family home.
