Mechatronic Solutions and Robopod’s newly qualified Junior Engineers celebrated their achievements in style at the Make UK graduation and awards ceremony.
The event was held at Edgbaston Cricket Club and was attended by over 150 apprentices who have have graduated from their apprenticeship and HNC/HND programmes based at Make UK’s Technology Hub in Aston, Birmingham (formerly EEF).
After years of hard work – including both academic study and invaluable on-the-job experience with the MechTech group of companies, it was time for our team to celebrate with fellow apprentice graduates and employers. The evening included a three course meal, speeches, graduation, presentation of awards and live band/DJ.
Mechatronic Solutions Apprentice Programme
Mechatronics Solutions’ structured apprenticeship programme has now been running for 5 years. Many of the original apprentices still remain at the company and have progressed their careers by gaining further experience and advancing to higher positions.
“The MechTech group is a great advocate of building future engineers and has been committed to delivering a strong apprenticeship programme since it began in 2014.
“I began in the industry as an apprentice myself back in the 60s and my own apprenticeship gave me a solid foundation from which I was able to progress my career. So our own apprenticeship programme is something that’s always been quite close to my heart.
“In 2019, our apprentices are graduating into an industry we could never have imagined when I began. It is an exciting time and the prospects are limitless.
“We congratulate our apprentices on their hard work and achievements and wish them all the very best as they begin their careers as full time Junior Engineers.”
Work Experience & Study
The quality and extent of work experience is one of the key benefits of the Mechatronic Solutions apprenticeship scheme, as it allows apprentices to benefit from wide exposure across the company, with the support of mentors to help them make the most of their opportunities.
After the first year of full time attendance at MAKE UK Technology Centre, apprentices move into full time work at Mechatronic Solutions with day release to MAKE UK or to college to pursue their studies alongside practical experience.
Make UK (Formerly EEF)
